ABOUT RANCH UNIVERSITY

Taught from a working ranch in Burleson County, Texas, not a studio.

Ranch University began with a simple observation: most land education isn't written for Texas, and most of it isn't written by people still doing the work.

Burleson County, Texas

01 THE STORY

We learned it the long way, so you don't have to.

Ranch University is run from a working Texas ranch โ€” cattle, hay, fence lines, and the paperwork that comes with all of it. The ag exemption process, the livestock decisions, the water planning: everything in the curriculum has been done on this ground first.

We built Ranch U because the answers new landowners need are scattered across county offices, extension bulletins, and hard-won conversations at the feed store. Membership puts them in one place, in order, in plain language.

01 Who Teaches Ranch U

Taught by people who live it.

The founders, the host, and the working experts behind every lesson โ€” all filmed on our working ranch in Burleson County, Texas.

Founder & Lead Guide

Elizabeth

Elizabeth Rogers is the founder of Ranch University and a Texas A&M Animal Science graduate who came back to the land the long way around โ€” through 25 years running Texas marketing and communications firms. She and her husband Jeff are building out their own working ranch in Burleson County, and Ranch U was born from every expensive lesson that land taught them. Liz leads the curriculum, interviews every expert, and translates the jargon so you never feel like the last to know.

Co-Founder

Jeff

Jeff Duke is an attorney, a real live landman, co-founded Ranch U and is the steady hand behind its land-management thinking โ€” the fences, the leases, the long game. He brings a deep background in Texas property and contract matters to the lessons every landowner needs most, and he's usually the one saying "get that in writing."

Host

Bret

Bret Richards is Ranch U's on-camera host โ€” a seasoned Texas auctioneer, real estate broker, and Aggie who's spent his career on the ground floor of Texas agriculture: sale yards, land deals, and the county events where ranching actually gets talked about. He's the voice walking you through the hands-on lessons, and the proof that learning this life should be fun.

WHAT RANCH U STANDS FOR

a.

Texas-specific

Counties, climates, and codes here are their own subject. We teach that subject, not a national average.

b.

Practical first

Every lesson ends with something you can do this week โ€” a filing, a fence plan, a feed decision.

c.

Neighborly

Ranching runs on neighbors. The community is half the value of the membership.

02 WHO IT'S FOR

For the newly landed and the herd-minded.

New landowners sorting out their first exemptions. Aspiring ranchers building toward a herd. Families keeping land that's been theirs for generations. If you want the land to work โ€” and pay its way โ€” the curriculum starts where you stand.
